Why don't you look at the sky?

Why don't you look at the sky ?

Look at the sky

The enormity of space,

and the insignificance of your tiny battles.

Into lives you haven't lived

long-lost love and moments unborn

To desires what is forbidden

Touch and warmth of someone numbed forever

losses and longing go on night after night

So much you cared for has been carried off

In a time of all,

Why don't you look at the sky ?

Look at the sky

The enormity of space,

and the insignificance of your tiny battles.

Why do you imagine the death of youth and charm

Where are the dreams dreamt and words promised

What is this scent in the air that was once sweet

but now smelt like lifeless leaves.

How is the time fading faster as you breathe

In a time of all,

Why don't you look at the sky ?

Look at the sky

The enormity of space,

and the insignificance of your tiny battles.

You and I are people of God

asking for all the world, its beauties and its injuries.

God is a strange man, brutal

as he puts us in the prison with beautiful windows.

Above our heads, as far up as clouds

Who can say, What it means, whether it protects?

In a time of all,

Why don't you look at the sky ?

Look at the sky

The enormity of space,

and the insignificance of your tiny battles.
